Eve High Slot Non Turret

A ship's CPU is the computer that controls the modules (such as weapons, repair systems, and so on) that you havefitted to your ship. The CPU has limits, and this page explains how to make the most of your ship's CPU.

Overview of CPU

High

Your ship has fitting slots that you can use to install modules on your ship. When a module is online (i.e. turned on) it uses some of your ship's CPU power. Because of your ship CPU's limits, you might not be able to have all ofyour modules online at the same time.

Train Electronics to increase your CPU output

Eve High Slot Non Turret

You can increase your CPU output by training the Electronics skill. It will boost your CPU output by 5% for each level of Electronics that you train.

Fit a co-processor to your ship to boost CPU output

Warning: If a ship has 5 high-slots, of which 2 are Turret Hardpoints and 2 Missile Launcher Hardpoints, you can fit 2 Turrets, 2 Missiles and 1 Nosferatu, or substitute as many of the Turrets or Launchers with a Nosferatu as you want - so you could end up with 5 of them. However, it is not possible to fit 4 Missile Launchers or 4 Turrets on this ship. The Maller is an Amarrian T1 cruiser with a 6/3/6 slot layout and a 10% bonus to Medium Energy Turret capacitor use and 5% bonus to all Armor resistances per level. Due to these bonuses and slot layout (and lack of drones), the Maller is essentially a cruiser-sized version of the Punisher. Jul 02, EVE New Citizens Q&A. Forum Index EVE Forums» EVE Communication Center» EVE New Citizens Q&A» Useful non-turret items for high slots. Topic is locked indefinitely. For pvp I almost always put neut in spare high, preferably in slot between two batches of guns so it serves also as a heat sink when I heat guns. The last must-know for Disintegrators is that they only use one turret hardpoint. Consequently, Triglavian ships enjoy several utility high slots which can be used for a range of purposes. You will see NPC Triglavians favoring remote armor repair, but players may choose energy warfare, smartbombs, or exploration equipment. You can also add co-processors to your ship to increase CPU output. There are a number of different co-processors available in the market. For example, Co-Processor II boosts CPUoutput by 10%.

Train skills to reduce the CPU usage of modules

There are also skills that allow you to make more efficient use of your ship's CPU,reducing the amount of CPU required by different types of modules that you can fit to your ship. They are summarized below:

  • Electronics Upgrades - Reduces the CPU of modules that are in the Electronics and Sensor Upgrades category
  • Energy Grid Upgrades - Reduces the CPU of modules that require the Energy Grid Upgrades skill to use
  • Mining Upgrades - Reduces the CPU of mining upgrade modules
  • Weapon Upgrades - Reduces the CPU needs of all types of weapons.

Use an Implant to reduce CPU usage of specific modules

Your character can install neural implants to further increase your CPU efficiency.Implants such as the Zainou 'Gnome' and the Inherent Implants 'Highwall'reduce CPU usage of specific module types.

Use rigs on your ship to reduce CPU usage of specific module types

Just as there are implants for your grey matter 'CPU',there exist a number of rigs that you canuse on your ship to reduce CPU usage of modules. For example, the Liquid Cooled Electronics rig will reduce CPU needs ofElectronics Upgrades modules.

Some obvious things to fit to your venture are mining lasers and drones.

But, is that the best you can do?

Let’s show info on the mining laser you are given by the tutorials. Go to variations tab, then press compare. On the compare tool, add meta level and mining yield, then sort by meta level.

You can see the meta 3 do almost 20% better than the ones you are given by the tutorial. The meta 4 do only slightly better. In my area of space the meta 3 cost about 10K ISK and the meta 4 cost 150K.

The big jump comes at meta 5, the tech 2. It has 50% better yield than the base meta 0. But, that takes mining level 4 to use. That only takes about a day of training, and the skill itself will up your mining amount. So, my suggestion is to use meta 3 until you get mining to level 4, then switch to the mining laser IIs as soon as you can.

But, the venture also has a low slot, and into that low slot can go a thing called the mining laser upgrade.

Now, the meta 1-4 of those are stupid expensive, costing tens of millions of ISK. The skill needed to use mining upgrades is rank 4, so it takes more than 4 days to be able to use the tech 2, meta 5 version. For this, I suggest you just use the meta 0 until you spend the time to move directly to meta 5.

As for the mid slots, you may want to consider a survey scanner. The purpose of a survey scanner is to show you how much ore is left in an asteroid, ice and gas cloud. Nice to know about how much is left in there so you can short cycle your lasers (If there is less than you will get from a full cycle, then you can stop the laser early).

The other mid-slots can be used for an afterburner or to increase your shield defense (shield booster and/or hardeners).

The other slots for fitting a ship are the rig slots. The only rigs that directly benefit mining are for mining drones and deep core mining (which is only done in null and usually in a mining barge). I would use the rig slots for defensive (shield amount and/or resists). If you have an issue with CPU, there is a rig for that, as well as power grid.

How about mining drones? In my experience, because of the travel time, mining drone actual yield tends to be significantly less than the advertised amount. Also you really should keep that drone bay for light combat drones.
